Hearts To Hearts

Hearts to Hearts is a podcast dedicated to opening up conversations about mental health in Aotearoa. Hosted by Wāti Hohua-Kora and Christine Russel, both graduates of the Atawhai Programme, we bring experience in mindfulness, mental health, and lived experince of rangatahi Māori. Our mission is to share the tools and resources that have empowered us, making them accessible to more communities across Aotearoa. We’re committed to destigmatising mental health, and fostering meaningful, positive change for the next generation.

It's the very first episode of Hearts To Hearts, and it’s only right that we begin with the wāhine toa who brought us all together—Kristina Cavit. Kristina’s achievements could fill an entire podcast of their own, but in short, she’s the founder of The Kindness Institute and has dedicated herself to bringing mindfulness and yoga to marginalised communities in Aotearoa and overseas. She’s won numerous awards, is a māmā, and a proud fat-positive activist.
